History Behind the Name

How the House of Ecclesiastes Got its Name

Hi, my name is Teresa, and this is how the House of Ecclesiastes got its name. As you all know from my testimony, I was in a county jail for two years while in county jail I got close to God.While I was incarcerated, I was laying on my bunk one night and a lady came from the back cell. I had no clue who this lady was. I've never met her before. Her name was Courtney as I was laying on my bunk she came and touched me and said "Hi, are you the one they call Mama T?" I said yes she said while she was back in her cell laying on her bunk, God spoke to her and told her to come talk to me. She asked me if I had a Bible and I responded with a yes. She asked me to open my Bible so I opened my Bible to Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you, plans for you to prosper and not harm you, plans for a future and hope." She went on to tell me of the story of when she was incarcerated in Texas Department of Criminal Justice years before. She said she was in church
one day and God told her to get up and hit her knees. You don't do that in prison! She continued to say she got up, hit her knees, and the bosses were coming towards her to detain her. The church that was visiting that day was a biker church, and at that exact time the bosses were coming towards her, they all surrounded her. She said that scripture got her through. Months before I was walking and singing, because there was strife in the pod I was in, and as I was walking, God had brought me two words Buda Batate'. I went and wrote it down, never thought about it again. A few months later I was walking and praying once again because of the strife that was in the pod. God brought me them two words again. I asked God, what does that mean? He said, “two are better than one.” I went to go find the words that I had wrote down and I opened my Bible. I opened to Ecclesiastes 4:9 “two are better than one”. I never knew that scripture was there, so I wrote the two words Buda Batate' and put an arrow to the scripture. As I was writing it down, a friend I knew from the world was writing scripture to her husband ask me for a good scripture. I gave her the verse Ecc 4:9 “Two are better than one “. She wrote it in the letter. I never thought about it again until that faithful day that Courtney came and spoke with me, she had revealed that God had given her the number 25 the last time she was in prison. I went on to tell her God revealed the number 9 for me. We were talking, we were looking up scriptures with 25 and 9 in them, just praising God and just fellowshipping when I happen to look down and noticed that on her forearm, Ecclesiastes 4:9 two are better than one”, was tattoed. I immediately looked at her in the eyes and said I'm about to blow your mind. I open my open my Bible to where I wrote those two words, Buddha Ba-Dante, down and how I had drawn an arrow to the scripture she had on her forearm tattooed Ecclesiastes 4:9 “two are better than one”. God was speaking to me!!!! A few minutes later they called for mail. My friend had been pulled to prison and they called my name. I received a letter from my friend. I opened the letter. The first words in the letter were hey "Mama T do you remember the scripture Ecclesiastes 4:9 “two are better than one”? I threw the letter on the floor. Courtney looked at me like what is was wrong. I said I will be right back. I
went to that back cell I hit my knees. I prayed to God and I told him that faithful day that if I had
ever doubted for one second that God was not real, that he had just proved to me, at that moment, that
he was real. He brought three of us together, cause you know, the scripture goes on to say if one
shall fall the other shall lift the other up, and a cord of three is unbreakable. That day I knew that
God was real. After being agnostic all my life and still having doubts in the back of my mind, that
day proved to me that he was real and that it was going to take a cord of three to show that to me and he sure did so. This is how the House of Ecclesiastes got its name is from my epiphany of that God is for real.

I hope that my story can touch just one person for you to know God the way that I do. He blesses
me every single day, not a day goes by that he has not blessed me. It is only by God's Grace and
Mercy that I am here on this earth today and doing his work like I promised him I would. He has
kept every promise he has given me. By the way I was released on 9/20, but papers were signed
for my release on 9/19. God bless you.
