About The House Of Ecclesiastes
Our Mission
The House of Ecclesiastes will be a sanctuary for those left behind after a loved one is incarcerated within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. We will provide a safe, supportive space where individuals can rebuild their lives while preparing for their loved one’s eventual release. Our co-living house will foster a nurturing environment, offering residents the opportunity to establish a strong foundation. Here, you can grow, heal, and become an essential part of your loved one’s successful reentry into society.
THE NEED
There is a significant need for a supportive space for those left behind after a loved one is incarcerated within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Many individuals long to move closer to their loved ones but face financial or logistical barriers that make this difficult. This house provides an opportunity for them to live in a Christian environment, where they can find strength, encouragement, and community. It is designed for those who want to be a strong support system for their spouse or loved one, but lack the means to relocate on their own.
BENEFITS
We will offer temporary housing closer to your loved one, allowing you to maintain employment, live a clean lifestyle, and work towards securing a stable home before your spouse or loved one is paroled. This house is specifically for those who, due to financial constraints, are unable to visit or relocate closer to where their loved one is incarcerated.
The key benefit is the opportunity to be closer to your loved one, enabling you to maintain regular visits and keep your family bond strong. Being physically close makes a significant difference in both your lives, preventing the emotional distance that can arise from separation.
Additionally, we will offer a program called Spouses Together Overcoming Prison (S.T.O.P.), designed to help couples reconnect and prepare for reentry, making the transition smoother for both partners before release.
OBJECTIVES
The House of Ecclesiastes will aim to provide temporary housing, support in securing employment, assistance with obtaining essential government documents, guidance in saving money, and help finding stable housing for their spouse or loved one upon parole. Above all, we are committed to being a strong support system, ensuring that individuals are well-prepared to offer their loved ones the care and stability they need during the reentry process.
